Bethel Park to Present "The Sound of Music," March 12-15

Bethel Park High School proudly announces its spring musical production of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s classic, The Sound of Music. Performances will occur March 12-15, 2025, at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium.

While many know the beloved film starring Julie Andrews, the original Broadway production came first and features slight differences in its storytelling.

A talented double cast will lead this production, with Maria Catana and Joanna Little sharing the role of Maria and Andrew Hughes and Liam Coll portraying Captain Von Trapp. Chorus teacher Mr. Todd Kuczawa will once again direct the two-cast production.

Don’t miss this timeless tale of love, courage, and music. Tickets and additional information will be available soon. Save the date for this unforgettable performance!

The musical follows Maria, a spirited young postulant sent to serve as governess for the seven children of a widowed naval Captain. Maria wins over the children and their stern father through her love of music and kindhearted nature. As Austria falls under Nazi control, the family faces difficult decisions about their future.
