Kszastowski Named PASC State Advisor of the Year

Bethel Park High School teacher Mr. Brad Kszastowski was named the 2024 Linda Greb High School Advisor of the Year by the Pennsylvania Association of Student Councils (PASC) at their annual state conference hosted by the Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School in Midland, Pa. This prestigious honor reflects Kszastowski’s exceptional dedication and leadership in guiding Bethel Park’s Student Council, where he is known for inspiring students to serve their school and community.

Kszastowski, affectionately called “Mr. K” by his students, was presented with the award by Mrs. Nicole Davis, a teacher at PA Cyber and the 2023 award recipient. Davis is also the head softball coach at Bethel Park.
Kszastowski was nominated for the award by his students and high school principal, Mr. Joseph Villani, who praised Kszastowski for his problem-solving skills, organization, and ability to connect with students.

“Brad is a dedicated and competent educational leader who has been instrumental in creating a collaborative and supportive learning environment in everything he does at the school, including student government,” said Villani.

The veteran technology education teacher has made his mark on Bethel Park through various roles, including Student Council Advisor, Class Sponsor, and Mentor Club leader. He has also established valuable partnerships with institutions like Robert Morris University, offering college-credit courses, and collaborated with a local broadcast station to enhance his media production classes. His positive energy and commitment have left a lasting impact on the students, staff, and community.

Bethel Park’s Student Council is thriving under Kszastowski’s leadership. Comprising nine Executive Board members, 16 Senators, and 92 representatives, the council has led several initiatives in the past few years, including:

  • Organizing a Homecoming Dance that drew 75% of the student body and a spirit week with nearly 100% participation.

  • Conducting fundraising and charity drives to support Thanksgiving meal programs, Toys for Tots, and Adopt-a-Family.

  • Granting funds to support other clubs and their service initiatives, such as Best Buddies and Environmental Club.

  • Running engaging school-wide activities like spirit weeks, lunchtime events, and an open forum with school administration to address student concerns.

Reflecting on Kszastowski’s contributions, Villani expressed pride in the school’s thriving student programs and acknowledged the council’s commitment to service, leadership, and student voice under Kszastowski’s guidance.

Kszastowski is humbled by the award, crediting Bethel Park’s students for the success of the student government. “Honestly, I feel a bit embarrassed to receive this award because it’s really the students who bring the ideas and energy to our initiatives,” he said. “My role is simply to guide and support them in turning their ideas into actions.”
